Carbs & Leotards: The 12 Days of Dancing

By Jackie Weber

The 12 Days of Dancing

So I was sitting on a bench on campus this past Wednesday trying to enjoy the hour that I had before my one class that didn’t involve movement. It was going well until I began to hear the sounds of Christmas tunes blaring from the speakers of the DJ booth right in front of the student center. As a graduating senior, time is of the essence and I find myself begging it to slow down more and more each day. The fact that Christmas music is playing and Thanksgiving hasn’t even occurred yet makes me want to put on dead pointe shoes and do toe hops across the studio until I break my ankle. The world needs to relax. We’ve got two weeks until December. Slow your roll and enjoy what’s left of November. I realize that my ranting won’t change the apparent need for American advertising to bombard us with images and subliminal messages that holidays are indeed almost here, so I guess if I cant beat them I better join them. No joke I heard this song in an advertisement today and since it’ll be stuck in my head until tomorrow when I hear another holiday classic, I decided that I’ll remix it. You’re welcome.
